CHISON SonoEye Introduction

SonoEye is a wired handheld ultrasound that connects to iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. It is designed for point-of-care use across hospitals, specialist clinics, and general practice — from musculoskeletal and aesthetic work to emergency, education, and critical care.

Clinical settings

The system is intended for bedside and outpatient imaging where a cart-based scanner is impractical, including POC, cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, internal medicine, and other specialty clinics in municipal hospitals, community hospitals, and GP rooms.

Design and workflow

Four programmable physical buttons (international patent) support freeze, image save, and parameter adjustment so the operator can scan with one hand and keep the other free for needle work or patient contact.

  • Wired connection for stable image transmission versus typical wireless probes.
  • Probe mass about 120–140 g, sized for pocket carry and bedside use.
  • IP67 ingress protection and MIL-STD-810G drop resistance for demanding clinical environments.
  • Imaging modes include B, colour (C), pulsed-wave Doppler (PW), M-mode, CPA, and DPD.
  • Programmable buttons reduce device contact during infectious cases and simplify biopsy workflow.

Clinical solutions

Sports medicine and physiotherapy

Rapid assessment of muscle, tendon, and ligament injury; dedicated MSK presets; two linear probes at different frequencies for shoulder, wrist, deltoid, and related structures. Suitable for outdoor and bedside use.

Intervention and biopsy

Biopsy kit (P1 / P2 / P5 / P6) and Central Mark (P1 / P2) help locate the puncture path. Super Needle uses refraction to enhance the needle; SonoNeedle steers the beam to stay perpendicular to the needle so the tip and path remain visible.

Aesthetic medicine

High-frequency linear imaging of skin layers supports pre-injection depth planning, intra-procedure monitoring of fillers, and post-procedure review — including botulinum toxin, microneedling, and hyaluronic acid work.

Emergency and ICU

eFAST-oriented presets for hepatorenal and splenorenal spaces, xiphoid, pelvis, and thorax. ICU tools address patients who cannot be moved easily and operators with limited ultrasound experience.

Smart software

SonoDiaph

Automatic diaphragm recognition and excursion measurement to support ventilator-weaning assessment. Available on SonoEye P5 — a capability the manufacturer positions as unique among common handheld systems.

Lung Analysis

Automatic pleural-line thickness and B-line counting, with comparison reports over time. Available on P1, P2, P3, and P5.

SonoBladder

Automatic bladder-boundary detection and volume measurement in five steps versus a typical twelve-step manual workflow. Available on P3, P5, and P6.

Auto EF

One-click EDV, ESV, and ejection fraction versus a six-step Simpson trace. Available on P3.

Vascular tools

Auto IMT and real-time IMT (P1 / P2), Intelligent Doppler for automatic ROI and gate placement, and Auto Trace of PW spectra.
